Thanks for visiting!

Gosh, I so stink at this blogging. I am trying but right now I have too many pots boiling over at once. I was doing great until hurrican Gustav decided to give the gulf coast a little visit. Labor day weekend I had my mom, dad and their bird, sister, BIL their 4 kids & dog, my MIL, FIL and their dog staying at our house. So throw in our family and our 3 dogs it was a bit tight. It was quite a visit. Mind you we live in a one story, 4 bedroom 2 bath house and one bedroom is DH’s office and one bedroom is my scraproom. So we had air beds all over and coolers lined up in the kitchen. It was crazy. Everyone left Tuesday and now are watching hurricane Ike. So Tuesday I washed and cleaned and Wednesday I was dragging and did absolutely nothing.

So this brings me to Thursday and Friday… well I am happy to say I will be teaching classes at one of Rollie Stillings events “Scrappin Away Vacations“  January 15-19. This will be her 5th anniversary and man does she have some fun things planned… make-n-takes, art auction for a charity, raffles and so much more. The event opens for registration Sept. 15th. She is only taking the first 175 reservations and then it is sold out. Rollie will post the classes Oct. 1st, which brings me back to Thursday and Friday… I have been working on creating a super cute class project for this event.

And how ironic… I got this award from Wendy Vecchi last week and then a few days ago from Celeste Smith. I guess they like my blog even though I am a bad blogger.

So here are the rules:

  1. The winner puts the logo on their blog.
  2. Then link the person you received the “I Love Your Blog” award from.
  3. Nominate at 6 other blogs.
  4. Then put links to those blogs on your blog.
  5. Then leave a message on the blogs of the people you nominated.

So here are my nominations in no particular order.

Santa Claus: Because I still believe.

Sande Krieger: I love her style, she makes me want to try digi so badly and her photography is out of this world.

Linda Albrecht: Her attention to detail is incredible and her altered projects are too cute for words.

My Crafty Life: Neat tutorials and templates

Jenny at Everyday is a Holiday: Love her paintings and seeing all her vintage finds.

Caroline Lau: Always discovers some neat technique for sheers or chipboard.

Now I am off to finish up my class project and work on some tutorials for next week. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Not being able to share…

October7

is the PITS! Lately I have been working on several projects and I cannot share any of them just yet. This is torture for me. I love to share my projects as soon as I finish. But last night I did have fun making my own embellishment for a project and I can share this so here goes… I have never used a die cutting system. I always create my own templates, trace them onto paper, cut them out and go from there. I tell ya I am a very old fashioned kinda girl when it comes to stuff like this not sure why… most likely it is because I am too picky and have to have everything just so so. Anyway, last night I decided to play with my Big Shot Die Cutting System I received in my MMM prize package. Well let me just tell you now my head is swirling with ideas. That thing is so much fun. I used some shrink plastic by JudiKins, a Sizzix Sizzlits Snowflake #2 Die, Ranger Stickles in Star Dust and a rhinestone. This cute snowflake is going to be an embellishment for a mini album and believe me more will be made for holiday projects, gift tags etc.

Embellished Shrink Plastic Snowflake

Last week was a great publication week. My Little Foof House, Family Message Board and Valentine’s Day Wall Hanging will all be in the Feb./Mar. issue of Paper Trends.

Three layouts… Santa Baby, Yep… It’s March and Our Tree will be in the Winter issue of Scrapbooking and Beyond.

Don’t forget to check out the MMM Blog. You will find a lot of great tips, ideas and layouts posted almost everyday. Today I posted a little project using one of the “Tis the Season” stamps designed by Sande Krieger and some shrink plastic.

FYI… I am starting to fill my teaching calendar for 2008. If you would like me to come and teach at your local scrapbook store or retreat send me an e-mail and I will see if a class can be scheduled.

I’ve been TAGGED!

April27

by Susan J her blog is called Onion Skin and talk about inspiring… If you do not know of Susan you really need to go and check her out. She does great work.

Here are the rules…. Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

My 7 random facts or habits are….

1. I always have to let my drinks (Hot or Cold) sit a bit before I can drink them… not sure why I just do.

2. I only wear white shirts. It makes my daughters and my sister crazy!!! I mean so crazy. It is just easier and works for me. I can’t stand the stress of making sure everything matches. Give me paper and I’m fine, clothes UGH!

3. I will dance all over my scraproom or the house but don’t even think I will do it in public.

4. I make a weird face when I put on my blush… my sister says I look like a duck. Gotta love little sisters.

5. I played the piano and clarinet in high school

6. I love to wash clothes.

7. My Dad is Santa Claus.

Sande Krieger cause I love her digi work and am always so inspired by her layouts. Kelli Crowe because I feel she has more energy than the law allows and it shows in her designs. Melodee Langworthy because she can do some incredible tag books. I am always so amazed when I see her work. Ashley Calder because her layouts are so out of the box. I just love everything she creates. Teresa McFayden her vintage style rocks like no other. Danelle Johnson because I’m always wanting to know what is coming next. She is full of fabulous ideas. Tara Whitney because her photography rocks!
