Thanks for visiting!

Friday night and Saturday, I got to hang out with some of my Maya Road friends… Caroline, Jess, Heather and Aubrey. I think we covered all of the DFW metroplex… in a very short amount of time. Friday night we cropped in Lewisville at the Scrapbook Warehouse. Each person brought a make-n-take for all of us to create. There were lots of laughs, stories and just plain fun!

Then Saturday we all went to IKEA. That is a field trip in itself. I love that place and it is just too convenient for me… only a few miles from my house. After our IKEA adventure we headed to Colleyville to do some make-n-takes at the Scrapbook Pad. What a wonderful store. I loved everything about it… the colors, the layout, the employees everything. I plan to go back on a Friday when Heather is working a crop to hang out and scrap.

After that we went to eat at Celebrity Cafe. After a great lunch, Jess and I had the most incredible coconut ice box pie! OMGosh it was so good. We were going to share a piece but then, me being me, decided maybe we wanted our own piece. Thankfully, Jess felt the same way. Baby Noah and Daddy David (that makes me laugh) met us there and talk about a cutie. That little Noah just makes me happy. He is so darn cute. I guess I should say David you are cute too… don’t want any hurt feelings or I might end up with a really bad chore at CHA. But you know, Noah just tops the cuteness. I’m begging Caroline and David to go someplace… anyplace, so I can babysit and spoil that little guy rotten.

After our lunch we headed to Richardson to pick up items from the Magic Scraps garage sale. I found some glitter. You all know how I love glitter. After all that it was time to go home and back to the real world. It was so fun and I cannot wait to do it again.

I get to help Caroline Saturday at the Scrapbook Pad with one of her classes. She has the cutest mini album created using one of the little tins that the ribbon slides come in. It is too cute! So I have a fun Saturday to look forward to. I’m working on a little ribbon flower project today and hopefully will have it completed tonight. I will post it tomorrow.

Caroline gave me some great Maya Road ribbon that is about 3/4 to an inch wide. It makes the best flowers! Their ribbon is the perfect weight for flowers.

I LOVE kids aRt…

especially my own kids so you will just have to hang in there with me as I show some of what my girls have created. Thankfully for you I’m just showing my all time favorites.

img_1563.JPGAnsley brought this wonderful piece home from school yesterday. I just LOVE this girl’s style. I feel she has a true talent and this is my favorite art piece she has ever created.

img_1564.JPGThis “Self Portrait” was created by Ansley in the first grade. I have it hanging up and look at it everyday. This, too, is one of my favorites. I love how she drew her eyes, nose and lips.

img_1565.JPGTerri has an incredible eye for photography. This photo is hanging up as well so that I can see it everyday. This was taken for a photography assignment in high school.

I love how she looked around the railroad tracks to find old spikes and metal pieces to spell out “Life”.

This photo really makes you think and has so many interpretations which I feel is what art is all about.

Okay, enough of my mom brag moments. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Tonight, I will be with some of the Maya Road girls cropping at “Scrapbook Warehouse” in Lewisville and doing make-n-takes Saturday at the “The Scrapbook Pad” in Colleyville. It is going to be so much fun.
