Busy Project Day…

If you are new here you might consider subscribing to my latest updates to this site, by RSS feed or via email:

Thanks for visiting!

I love these little Ballerinas so much and bottle brush trees… oh man do I love bottle brush trees. Oh, and glass beads, these are from vintage garland, another one of my favorites. Oh and dang I’m hyper can you tell… I have vintage Mica around the Ballerina on top of the jar as well as glass shards and glitter (Big Surprise there I’m sure). Alan will be adding items for sale on my blog (including these) several times a week, so if you want original one-of-a-kind items check back and see if I have anything you might like.

Sugar Plum Fairy Gift Jar Sugar Plum Fairy Gift Jar Close Up
I think this jar… the entire piece stands approx. 9.25 inches tall… would be adorable filled with candies or hot chocolate and given to a special friend or family member. It has an office tag with a snowflake attached waiting for that someone special’s name.
Sugar Plum Fairy Paper Mache Box Sugar Plum Fairy Paper Mache Box Close Up
This paper mache box measures approx. 3 inches wide and the total piece stands approx. 7 inches tall. I painted the entire box and added white boa, glitter tinsel, pink pom pom trim, bottle brush trees, satin seam binding, a ballerina, snowflakes, rhinestones and iridescent fibers.

My scraproom is doing some major sparkling this evening. I plan on making a few other items tomorrow. Not sure what they will be as I never seem to know what I am going to create. I just walk in and start picking items up, putting them together and before I know I am deep into a project.

So until tomorrow… have a wonderful evening.

New Holiday Tutorials For Sale

Alan and I have been working very hard preparing lots of holiday tutorials to add to my blog. We will be adding three sometime tonight. All you need to do is add your own holiday papers, ribbons, embellishments and of course GLITTER. Once purchased you will be able to download each tutorial, which will include a complete list of the supplies and tools needed as well as step by step instructions and color photos of the project you will be creating. Below are photos of the three tutorials I will be listing. I plan on adding several more later in the week and hopefully into the last week of December. One really cute one I am working on is a Count Down to Christmas Garland. I’m trying hard to get it completed before Dec. 1st. It will be one that will be fun to create with your children.

Holiday Ornament

Here is an ornament I created using lots of Maya Road product. First I painted a page from a Maya Road Sheer Snowflake Coaster Album using Spotlight Paint by Making Memories. Once dry, I completely covered the snowflake in Krystallos Shard Vintage Glass by Art Glitter. I LOVE any and everything by Art Glitter. Next, I covered a page from a Maya Road Chipboard Bird Coaster Album using BasicGrey patterned papers. Then I created a wing from a Maya Road Scroll Chipboard that has been painted and covered with Crackle Accents by Ranger. I painted two Maya Road Royalty Chipboard Crowns using a Metallic Gold Paint Dabber by Ranger. Then placed some Maya Road Velvet Blossom Trim in Rich Red in between the two crowns and attached the crown to the top of the birds head. I applied Gold Stickles by Ranger to the top of the front crown. To finish my bird I accented it using ribbons, lace and tags created from scraps. Once everything was dry I attached the bird to the snowflake (use a strong liquid glue or hot glue gun) and strung blue tulle through the top of the snowflake and tied it into a knot.

I think I am going to use rub ons to place the year on the star tag and then either a name or other holiday word on the other tag… just can’t seem to make up my mind quite yet.

Cleaning out my project closet…

Alan added a shopping cart to my blog so I can now sell projects I have created. You will find the For Sale items just to the right of the screen. Yesterday I cleaned out my project closet and listed a few items. There will be more as I digg. Man my scraproom is about to burst. It is in need of some serious cleaning and organizing.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. It is gorgeous here in Frisco… crisp air, blue sky and leaves gently falling of the trees. I love fall.

Quick Christmas Card and the Winner…

This little card took me less than 10 min. to make… world record time for me! I love this line by Heidi Grace. It is called Jolly & Bright. Everything in this line is adorable… she has some of the cutest rubon designs, tags, alphabet etc. You really need to check it out.

Heidi Grace Christmas Card

To recreate this card you will need a blank note card, one sheet each of Candy and Glitter Candy patterned paper, Alpha Punch Outs (heart) and the Add-On Punch Outs (round tag), Everyday Grace Green Ribbon Card (Ric Rac) and the Fiskars Border Punch these are so cool, they punch and emboss at the same time (a little hint when using this punch stand up and punch, it is much easier this way).

Fiskars Border Punch

The winner of the Fiskars Stamp Press is k9mom4. Please email me your address and I will get it to you asap.

Congrats and have fun!

P.S. There is only one of my Christmas House kits left. If you want it you best get it now.
