It looks as though nature is decorating the yard for me. Take a look at these beautiful spider webs I found outside in our yard and on the girls trampoline. I gotta say that spider freaks me out. It is huge!

Need a quick and inexpensive gift…

Here is a project for you. To spiffy up this old votive candle holder all I did was apply some of the new Maya Road “Flower Me” rubons all around the outside of this candle holder. This took me less than 5 min. I placed the sheet of rubons onto my paper cutter horizontally then cut 2 strips 1.75″ wide, wrapped one strip of rubons around the candle holder and applied the rubons, wrapped the second strip of rubons around the candle holder and applied… Bam, I was finished.

To make sure the rubons are protected I would spray the entire outside of the candle holder with a thin layer of clear varnish or something like it. I can see several of these in a cluster along a mantel, end table etc. You can accent several votive candle holders with one sheet of rubons.

Candle Holder Decoration

Man do I love the Sheer Crown Coaster Album by Maya Road. Not only is it adorable used as a mini album but the individual pages are perfect to create with too. I wanted to spiff up my candle holder for the upcoming holidays and thought a page from the Sheer Crown Coaster Album would be perfect so I glittered, painted, tied and glued and in a few hours this is what I created.

Here is a photo of the candle lit at night. It is so pretty. I wish you could see how it sparkles and glows in person. Man this little piece makes me want to take out all my Christmas decorations, turn on some holiday music and bake some cookies.

Happy Birthday Caroline

Today my dear friend Caroline Lau is celebrating her birthday. I would love it if you would help make her day a special one by leaving her a birthday greeting on the MR Design Team Blog. You will find lots of inspiring ways to use Maya Road products as all the design team members created Caroline a special birthday tag. My tag includes Maya Road Velvet Ric Rac, Rubons and Blossoms that I glittered and flocked.

Happy Birthday Caroline

Eat lots of cake C… enjoy your day.
I love ya!

Holiday Cards

Wanna to get a nice jump start on your holiday card making?

Winter 2008

A few of my cards are in the Winter 2008 issue of Paper Creations. I created this card set using the Merry and Bright kit by Cocoa Daisy.

Merry and Bright Holiday Cards

Tricia just so happens to have a few of these kits remaining. You have the best of both worlds here…. all the supplies needed are in the Cocoa Daisy Merry and Bright Kit and the instructions and templates needed to recreate the cards are found in the Winter 2008 issue of Paper Creations.

It really cannot get much easier than this unless you decide not to make any and head on over to Hallmark. But that would be cheating and not nearly as fun.

Also two layouts I created using the Merry and Bright kit will be in the Winter 2008 issue of Scrapbooking & Beyond. The layouts are titled “Our Tree” and “Santa Baby”. I don’t have a copy of this magazine yet but will post when I do… Cocoa Daisy’s Merry and Bright kit is full of great products. You can do a lot of creating.
